Small Ball

Our small ball programs are meant for maximum development, action and fun!  Nationally, we have been at the forefront of using small ball as an effective training tool and were the first in Indiana to do so going back to 2008.  Today Small Ball is the preferred training method for youth and college teams across the country and has also been adopted by US lacrosse.

Our Small Ball programs offer a small-sided playing environment that allows player to get tons of repetitions on both sides of the ball. Players are required to get up & down the field, emphasizing offensive & defensive skills and concepts in transition and settled situations.

All youth players will have a practice followed by a game each week. Our instruction includes but is not limited to the rules of the game, IQ, defense, stick-work, 2-man game, faking & finishing, dodging, screens, and off-ball motion. Adults just play but tips are offered from our experienced staff.

New day and new format!  We are now padding up and playing on Sunday evenings!  This game is perfect for intermediate to experienced players.

Jungle Rumble 3 v 3 Games

  • Sunday nights from 6-7 pm
  • HS and up
  • Experience is necessary.  We will offer a beginners program this summer.
  • Helmet, gloves, arm guards and sticks are required.
  • Footwear: Please wear basketball shoes, no cleats!
  • Field is a  basketball court with goals that are 3′ x 3′
  • Simple set of rules for safety and fun
  • Cost is $10 per night.
The Rules

Each session is capped at 10 players and when you register you can pick and choose the dates that work for you.

New format and more options!

We have listened to your feedback and are changing our format.  Your program can enter a small group or team and run your own practices at our facilities.  We will be your support group and can do as little or as much as you want. Don’t have a team or small group, no problem, just sign up as a free agent.  Beginners thru experienced are welcome.  Players may play up or down in any of the divisions depending on their ability, physical size  and comfort level.

Teams: Put your own team together or sign up as a free agent and we will put you on one.  A full team must have at least 12 players for 8 v 8 and 16 for 10 v 10.  To get your team entered into our registration system please call our office at 317-804-1721.

Separate programs for boys & girls

The Hoosier Lacrosse Academy has a fantastic opportunity for any player that wants to keep a stick in their hands this fall.
With our Fusion format every participant is guaranteed to see a lot of action, with an accelerated pace, and get a lot of touches!

What is a Fusion format? It means we use regular sized goals, a smaller field and have 2 attack, 2 defense, 3 middies and a goalie.  This translates to a faster pace game with more touches for every player.

Small ball, as others call it, is becoming an essential way of training by programs around the world.  We certainly did not invent this format but we are proud to say we have been doing this since day one.

Prior to all games, The Hoosier Academy coaches will hold a practice to help players hone their fundamental skills, learn the nuances and more complex concepts of the game.

  • Dates:  Saturdays for 6 weeks – September 11, 18, 25 October 16, 23, 30 – Rain out date November 6
  • Times: 10 am – 11:30 am
  • Format: Skills, Drills and exciting Scrimmaging.  This is a high intensity program but open to all abilities. 
  • Level: Open to all players grades 3 to 12.   To maximize training athletes will be split by gender, age, size and ability .
  • Cost: $90.00 for 6 weeks
