We have a real american hero as a guest coach at our Fusion Summer league on June 17 at Sahm and July 29th at our South side location.
Captain Sam Harrison
3rd Battalion, 18th Fires Brigade, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina
Sam played long pole (long stick midfield in ’07&’08 & defense in ’09&’10) for the Division 1 Army Black Knights. He earned playing time early on and was awarded the Gen. L.E. Seeman Award as the team’s outstanding plebe (freshman). Sam became a full time starter his junior year.
To cap off his career, Sam led a younger defensive unit which propelled The Black Knights to an undefeated Patriot League record and championship. In the NCAA tournament, his defensive squad held two time defending NCAA champions (and offensive powerhouse) Syracuse to only 8 goals in a game which went to double overtime. This allowed Army to win the game in one of the biggest NCAA tournament upsets ever.
Throughout his career Sam was tasked with covering various lacrosse stars including: Paul Rabil (Team USA Member, MLL Superstar), Ned Crotty (Tewarton Winner, Team USA Member, & MLL Superstar), Max Siebald (Team USA Member, MLL Superstar), Cody Jamieson (#1 Pick of the 2010 NLL draft), Casey Powell (Team USA & Syracuse Legend), and many others.
After graduating Sam served for a season as Army’s graduate assistant (lacrosse coach intern) before doing a tour in Afghanistan. Most recently he has been coaching youth lacrosse for a local team near his posting in Lawton, Oklahoma.
